Tuesday October 14th Meeting!

At approximately 3:30 the club began with self-introductions. The members enjoyed the presence of a Special Guest, Ms. Rie Fujiwara.

At 3:40p.m. Sgt. Palmer introduced the topic 'The Origin of Whole Foods Around the World'. From 3:40 to 4:30p.m. the group discussed the origins of Rice (Central and Southern China/ Northern India), the origins of wheat (the Levant), strawberries (eastern North America/Chile), onions (Pakistan/India), apples(Asia Minor), potatoes (United States/Uruguay/Chile), peanuts (Peru), corn (Mexico), and coffee.

At 4:30p.m. Sgt. Palmer opened the floor for questions. Wataru Sakamoto asked Sgt. Palmer about the recent food poisonings around the world. Sgt. Palmer and the students discussed the Global Financial Crisis and its affect on farmers around the world.

At 5p.m. the meeting came to an end.
